The Realme C55 5G has gained a lot of attention in India thanks to its value-for-money specs and reliable performance. With the rollout of Realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15, users have a lot to talk about. This update delivers a fresh look and feel, packs in over 35 new features, and tackles issues that bugged users in previous versions.
If you’re considering the Realme C55 5G (whether it’s the 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, or 6GB/128GB model) or even comparing the Realme C55 Pro and Realme C53, the new software might sway your decision. Here, I share my experience with the open beta update, what’s new, what’s missing, and how it impacts everyday use—from privacy tweaks to gaming performance.
Realme C55 Realme UI 6.0 Android 15 Open Beta Update: What’s Inside
The Realme UI 6.0 (Android 15) open beta is now rolling out to Realme C55 5G users in India. The updated version is 15.0.0.700, and it weighs in at 4.92 GB. Realme is sending it out in batches, so if you haven’t seen it show up, give it a few days.
Latest Security Patch
This update brings the newest Android 15 security patch, dated April 1, 2025. With it comes enhanced protection and tighter system security, making your device more resistant to threats.
System Performance and Stability Enhancements
System improvements are a big focus here. The update fixes quite a few minor bugs and glitches from earlier builds. The core system gets a boost in stability.
The Trinity Engine, which handles UI fluidity, battery life, animations, and app transitions, works smoother now. Animations feel snappier, apps open and close faster, and UI transitions don’t stutter or lag like before. I noticed that swiping, opening, and closing apps just feels more natural.
Key New Features in Realme UI 6.0 Update: Screenshot Upgrades
One of my favorite new features is in screenshots. Before, every screenshot included the full status bar—showing battery, network, and Wi-Fi icons. It cluttered images, especially if I wanted to share something clean on social media.
Now, there’s an option to hide the status bar and navigation bar in screenshots. Here’s how I do it:
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Accessibility & Convenience.
- Select Screenshot.
- Toggle Hide Status Bar and Navigation Bar.
Take a screenshot now, and you’ll see a clean image with no icons at the top. It’s a simple improvement, but it makes a huge difference for sharing.
Recording App: Recently Deleted Recovery
We all delete recordings only to realize we need them later. The Recording App now offers a lifesaver: “Recently Deleted” recovery. Gain access through a small arrow beside “All Recordings” inside the app. Any recording you delete is moved to this folder for 30 days. You can recover it any time within that window. Here’s how:
- Open the recording app.
- Tap the arrow next to All Recordings.
- Go to Recently Deleted.
- Select recordings to restore.
If you regret deleting a work memo or family call, you can get it back within a month.
Recent Tasks UI Changes
Realme tweaked the recent apps view. Previously, it showed a Close All text button for shutting down open apps. Now, you’ll see a circular cross icon instead. It looks sleeker and fits better with other UI elements.
Photos App: More Intelligence and Smarter Cleanup
The Photos app gets a significant makeover. Here’s what I noticed:
- Videos now play in repeat mode. Tap a video, and instead of stopping after one play, it loops. Great for reviewing or sharing short clips.
- New Clean Up Suggestions appear under Albums. This feature scans for duplicates and large files. I tapped the suggestion and was able to
- Review duplicate photos and videos in separate categories.
- Use the smart filtering option to select all duplicates with one tap.
- Delete extras quickly, saving storage. Only a single copy remains.
- View filter icon: Next to the search bar is a view icon. Tap it to choose:
- Only photos,
- Only videos,
- Favorites. This makes sorting and reviewing media way easier.
- PDF Conversion: The three-dot menu on images now offers Convert to PDF. I selected a few images, clicked the three dots, and created a multi-page PDF instantly—a useful addition for sharing or archiving documents.
Screen Recording Privacy Protection
Screen recording is getting safer. There’s now a privacy protection switch. When it’s on, the recorder doesn’t capture your notification panel or status bar (battery, network, Wi-Fi). This means sensitive pop-ups or icons don’t get shown in recordings, which is useful for creating tutorials or sharing clips without leaking personal info.
To use it:
- Dive into Settings.
- Go to Accessibility & Convenience.
- Choose Screen Recording.
- Enable Privacy Protection.
While recording, you’ll notice notifications and status details stay hidden. It’s a relief for anyone worried about privacy leaks in videos.
Song Search Added to Notification Panel
A nifty addition: the new Song Search toggle. From your notification panel, activate the toggle, hum or sing a tune, and see the app identify the song for you. It even recognizes partial lyrics. I tried humming a Bollywood tune, and within seconds, the panel showed the song title. This practical tool saves time hunting through music apps.
System and Network Fixes Wi-Fi Connectivity Stays Stable
Earlier, many users (me included) faced Wi-Fi that disconnected randomly or the icon went missing. With this update, Wi-Fi connections stay stable. Connections don’t drop, and the icon sits right where it should.
Better Mobile Network Performance
Mobile network reliability gets a boost. Previously, some calls didn’t connect, or 5G would sometimes refuse to show up. This update irons out those hiccups.
- Fewer network dropouts, especially with 5G.
- Calls connect faster.
- Data speeds hold steady.
Browsing and streaming both feel more responsive after this upgrade.
Missing Features and What Still Needs Work
While Realme UI 6.0 has brought many improvements, there are still gaps that Realme needs to fill.
Limited Flux Themes in Wallpaper & Style
Go to Wallpaper & Style and check out the Flux themes. Only 2-3 sections are there right now. Most other options are missing. They might return with future updates, but right now, customization is a bit restricted.
No “Share with iPhone” Option in Connection & Sharing
While checking connections, I found only Realme Share. The much-asked-for “Share with iPhone” option is still missing. You can’t beam files to iOS devices natively yet—a feature many hoped would arrive with this update.
Home & Lock Screen Visual Effects Not Present
The advanced visual effects setting, which allowed folder blurring and transparency on the home and lock screen, is currently missing. These effects made folders and app drawers look classier and easier to distinguish. Maybe they’ll return, but for now, the UI keeps things straightforward.
Other Missing Touches
A couple of little things aren’t working as before:
- Torch’s live status alert doesn’t show up in the control center—just in the status bar.
- The app drawer has lost its Gaussian blur and is now fully transparent. Some users prefer the older, softer look.
Battery, Charging & Gaming: Real-World Impact
After installing Realme UI 6.0, I noticed some positive changes:
- Slightly longer battery life: Battery drain, which was a huge problem in the early access beta, has improved a bit but still crops up if you use heavy system or third-party apps.
- Overheating: Heat buildup is less intense than before, though gaming and hot weather can still push temperatures up.
- Charging speed: This is where the update shines. Charging is noticeably faster and more reliable. No more slow charging issues—the phone juices up properly every time.
If battery life is your top concern, this update helps, but a stable build may bring further gains.
Gaming Performance
For gamers, there’s good news and a bit of caution:
- Frame rate: Games run smoother, with fewer frame drops and lags than earlier beta versions.
- Occasional slowdowns: There are still intermittent jitters or skips, especially in graphically intensive titles. But the experience is better overall.
- Heat: Extended gameplay on hot days might still feel uncomfortable, but less so than before.
Updating Realme System Apps Safely
If you want to keep your device running its best, keep your system apps updated. Techno Vikrant shares updates for Realme UI 5.0 and 6.0
- Download updates from the channel.
- If your device is on UI 6.0, install UI 6.0 app versions.
- If you’re still on UI 5.0, be careful. Installing UI 6.0 apps might cause crashes or instability.
- Always back up important data first.
Conclusion
This Realme UI 6.0 update for the Realme C55 5G in India brings plenty of new features, performance fixes, and a cleaner UI. I’m excited about what’s improved and hopeful that missing features will return soon.
